The position

We are seeking an experienced Testing & Quality Assurance Lead to join our high-performing development team here at Homhero. As Testing & Quality Assurance Lead you should be comfortable working alongside a team of software developers, be a strong communicator and have expert knowledge of Agile methodologies.

HomHero’s Testing & Quality Assurance Lead is hands-on and deeply involved in the day-to-day development and testing activities, to ensure our market-leading software product remains exactly that.

Who we are looking for

• Extensive experience in test planning, development and execution
• Experience in projects/environments involving the development of web applications
• Familiar with Atlassian (particularly Shortcut), Confluence and Bitbucket systems
• Familiar with a variety of coding languages and frameworks
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services
• Experience working within a variety of development methodologies (Kanban, Agile)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong attention to detail and processes
• Diligent with software development best practices (including thorough documentation and stakeholder communication)
• Analytical
• Pro-active

What you will do

• Establish and champion best practice testing strategies and framework for our full suite of proprietary software solutions
• Test planning and strategy
• Test development and execution
• Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, vendor representatives and other IT team members / experts to discuss test results and ensure that issues, problems and defects that arise during testing are resolved efficiently
• Thought leadership and implementation of practical applications for QA across the organisation
• Undertake testing and quality assurance projects in collaboration with key stakeholders, vendor representatives and other IT team members
• Review test documentation
• Quality metrics and reporting
• Process improvement and development of standards
• Analyse and review test results, modify tests where necessary and provide reports on progress, anomalies, risks and issues and recommendations for improvement
• Stakeholder communication and collaboration
• Develop testing strategies that reduce the risk of system outages and identify system defects
• Provide technical consulting and subject expertise to support the development and implementation of testing strategies, plans and scripts
• Interpret, execute and document complex functional / performance test scripts using agreed methods and standards
• Ensure accurate records are maintained, and that responses to correspondence are timely and consistent

Experience & Accreditations

• A solid understanding of the various software testing methodologies, types and test case design techniques
• Experience is testing cloud-based software systems
• Experience in use of test management tools
• Accreditations and practical experience in project management and/or Agile methodologies
• 4+ years experience in a comparable role
• Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
• Accommodation systems experience preferred
