Homhero started in 2016 when a group of experienced short-term rental property managers across the Gold Coast, Sydney and the Barrington Coast grew impatient with the distribution tools available to them, so they built their own.

Distribution was the first gap. But the holiday rental market kept presenting new ones. A chance conversation with a developer who had been building CRM and booking engine solutions for the same market led to a collaboration that changed the product entirely.

Combining those elements is what became Homhero. What started as a channel manager is now the platform that more than 50 per cent of the professional short-term rental market across Australia and New Zealand relies on to run their business.

2016

Founded

Homhero is founded on the Gold Coast by a team of hoilday rental property managers and developers, purpose-built for the Australian market with trust accounting expertise ingrained from day one.


2017

Direct integration established with Booking.com

Homhero establishes a Booking.com partnership agreement and implements a direct API connection.


2018

First direct integration with Airbnb in Australia

Homhero becomes Australia’s first-ever Airbnb connected PMS, and continues to be recognised as a Preferred Software Partner to the current day.


2020

Direct connection established with Vrbo

Homhero establishes Expedia partnerships and implements direct API connection with Vrbo, plus the broader Expedia network.


2021

50 enterprise clients

Homhero reaches 50 enterprise property management clients, establishing a foothold within the industry and fast-tracking progress towards becoming the leading platform for professional operators in the ANZ market.


2022

100 enterprise clients

The platform doubles its client base, surpassing 100 enterprise clients and cementing its position as the preferred system for professional short-term rental operators.


2023

150 enterprise clients

Growth continues as Homhero reaches 150 enterprise clients, and is widely regarded as the leading independent PMS and Channel Manager for professional short-term rental operators owned and operated in Australia.


2025

Premier partner status across all major OTAs

Homhero achieves the trifecta of Premier partnership status with Airbnb, Booking.com, and VRBO simultaneously. The platform now powers 16,980 properties and processes more than $630 million in annual gross bookings.


2026

Homhero celebrates its 10th anniversary. With 17,000+ properties under management and certification as the only property management software in the world with 100% uptime from both VRBO and Expedia Group, the platform that started on the Gold Coast now defines the standard for professional short-term rental management in Australia and New Zealand.
